Ecology Law Currents welcomes submissions from academics, practitioners, policy makers, and students. Submissions should be on current environmental issues or cases. All submissions must be original, previously unpublished works and can be in the form of articles, essays, commentaries, or responses to articles published in ELQ. All pieces are searchable on Hein Online, LexisNexis and Westlaw, and available in PDF reprint format as well as on the Currents website.
Guidelines
We strongly recommend that all pieces be between 1,500 and 3,000 words; we cannot publish pieces over 4,000 words. Please choose a title that is eight words or less.
Currents welcomes submissions accompanied by multimedia, and interactive components, preferably at the beginning of the editing process. Kindly indicate whether multimedia should be incorporated within the text, or should accompany the article’s title on the Currents homepage.
Format
Submissions should be typed, double-spaced, in its completed form, and submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format. Headings should be in bold font and left justified, and should not be preceded by roman numerals. Sub-headings should be left justified and in italic font.
Please place all citations in footnotes. Footnotes must conform with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed.), and authors should be prepared to supply any cited sources upon request.
All quotations, attributions and references to hard data must be cited, but we ask authors to refrain from using string cites. To ensure the factual integrity of published articles, we cannot accept citations to articles from Wikipedia. Please include all parallel citations to any internet sources and useful websites.
